ADDISON, Ill. - The Davenport bowling teams hit the lanes for the first time in 2023 over the weekend at the Kegel/ISBPA Tier 1 tournament held at Stardust Bowl. The top tier event showcased several of the top teams in the country and the women's team had a fantastic showing in third place out of 62 schools with a total of 8,700 pins over the two-day event. The ladies had 4,741 during the qualifying round and then had the highest baker total in 20 games of 3,959. Only Madonna (8,774) and Pikeville (8,884) had a higher finish than the Panthers.
Karine Bouchard, who recently was selected again to represent Team Canada, finished just outside the all-tournament team in eighth place with a total of 1,052 over five games for an average of 210.4.
Kasey Eaton placed 31st overall with a total of 984 and bowled a high of 241 in the fourth game.
Omani Morales placed 37th with a total of 977 (195.4 average) and had a high of 235 in the third game. Isabella Harnish rounded out the top four Panthers in 103rd place with a total of 903 and rolled a high of 246 in the first game.
On the men's side, Davenport placed 22nd out of 71 schools in the tournament with a pin total of 9,001. They qualified with 4,992 and then rolled 4,009 in the 20 baker games. Davenport topped out with a high of 230 in the 10th baker game of the round.
Lucas Buck was the top finisher for the Panthers in 31st place and averaged 219.2.
Brandon Hyska was behind him in 73rd place with a total of 1,036 and bowled a high of 237 in the first game.
Nick Luther finished in 135th place with a total of 972 and had a high of 238 in the second game.
