WATERFORD, Mich. - Davenport University men's and women's bowling posted a top-four showing in their respective brackets for the first competition of the 2025 calendar year, with the varsity and junior varsity squads leaving their mark on the American Heartland Bowling Association (AHBA) No. 5 Tournament. 

Women's varsity claimed first place in a field of 14 teams to claim their third victory in the AHBA series. Men's varsity finished fourth out of 17 teams, as the men's JV1 and JV2 teams finished first and second overall.

Kasey Eaton (first place; 1,077) and Bella Harnish-Fitzgerald (second place; 971) topped the list of varsity players, as Carly Snyder (eighth; 917), Chloe Crick (24th; 840), and Kadence Bottrall (27th; 834) rounded out the DU women's varsity performers to claim a top-30 spot out of 86 listed bowlers.

Lucas Buck earned third place (1,096) out of 110 listed men's varsity bowlers, with teammates Ryan Oyama (12th; 1,033), Conner Weston (59th; 762), Michael Willshire (60th; 761), Antonio Martinez (73rd; 577), Aspen Pietrzykowski (78th; 536), and Adam Coval (102nd; 205) assisting in the effort for the team's fourth-place finish.

A slew of players finished in the top-15 on the men's JV1 and JV2 teams, including Ethan VanderSlik (first place; 1,205 JV1), Aidan Bass (second; 1,077 JV2), Tyler Miller (third; 1,051 JV1), Sam Woolworth (fourth; 1,040 JV2), Tyler Latunski (seventh; 997 JV1), Alex Uranga (ninth; 963 JV2), and Charlie Johnson (11th; 954 JV2).

For the women's junior varsity team, Paige Hall tied for second overall (834), as Lauren Taylor (seventh; 701), Jocelyne Jean (eighth; 679), and Lilly VandenBosch (ninth; 642) rounded out the top-10 of 15 bowlers.

The Panthers will compete in the annual Kegel ISBPA on Jan. 18-19 in Addison, Ill.
