INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Davenport University bowling teams posted strong results in the 2024 Columbia 300 Western Shootout. Both teams claimed third in their brackets with the men's tallying a final score of 6,517 and the women's recording 5,824.

Carly Snyder (210.17 pinfall average) and Kasey Eaton (208.33 average) helped the women secure their top-three finish, placing fifth and sixth in the individual leaderboards through six games. Kadence Bottral (44th, 187.5 average), Bella Harnish (49th, 185.33), and Chloe Crick (54th, 179.33) also contributed to the final scores for the varsity bracket. Kortnie Matz (60th, 174.17) and Emma Whitman (62nd, 170.33) competed for the junior varsity bracket as their averages placed them in the top 65 of all bowlers.

Aidan Bass led the men's squad with a 13th-place finish (222 average score) with teammate Lucas Buck close behind in 18th (221.3 average) after playing six games. Dylan Vermilyea also added strong results, finishing 41st overall with an average pinfall of 212.

The Panthers will compete in a single-day tournament at The Nelson Invite, hosted by Aquinas College, on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Station 300 in Grandville, Mich.
