DU Ends Fall Season on Fire, Bodis Secures Second Career Tournament Victory

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - Brandon Bodis led the Davenport men's golf team to first place finish at the Whistling Straits Championship early this week (Oct. 23-24). Overall, the Panthers finished atop the standings, tied with Keiser University with a two-round score of 628, shooting 52 over par. As a team, DU has placed first twice and second once in its final three events of the fall season.

As for Bodis, he individually won the event, shooting 151 (+7) with a low round of 72 on the second day. The graduate has dominated the fall season, now winning two events and finishing second at the Davenport Panther Invite a week ago.

Freshman Cayden Kwan earned his first top-three finish of his career, tying for third, shooting 153 (+9) with a low round of 74. Through two rounds, Kwan tallied two birdies and an eagle.

Aiden Deng tied for 16th overall in the event, marking the third-best finish of the five Panthers. The sophomore shot 16 over par (160) and recorded two birdies in the second round, where he shot a 76 (low round).

Rounding things out for the Panthers were Trysten Ewolhin and Noah Bridgeman. Ewolhin placed tied for 39th, shooting 167 (+23), while Bridgeman tied for 59 with a two-round score of 174 (+30).

The Panthers will now have a break until the spring, returning to action on Feb. 25 in Powley Island, S.C. at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club for the Barton Bulldog Clash.
