Panthers Claim Flyer Intercollegiate, Bodis Finishes Atop Leaderboard

LEMONT, Ill. - The Davenport University men's golf team garnered a first-place finish at the Flyer Intercollegiate, which took place at the Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. The Panthers finished with three players inside the top five.

Brandon Bodis convincingly won the event, shooting seven under par (137). The second-place finisher shot four under par (140). The graduate tallied nine birdies through two rounds, shooting 68 (-4) in round one and 69 (-3) in the second round.

Noah Bridgeman and Aiden Deng each finished tied for fifth place, ending the event with a two-round score of 144, even with par. Bridgeman had a low round of 70 (second round) where he recorded three birdies, while Deng shot a 69 in the first round, as he had a dominating stretch of five straight birdies on holes two through six.

Cayden Kwan and Foster Faber rounded things out for the Panthers, tying for 20th overall. The duo had an identical outing, registering a final score of 149 (+5), shooting 75 on day one and 74 on day two.

The Panthers will continue fall play at the Davenport Panther Invite in Augusta, Mich. at the Stoatin Brae Golf Club on Oct. 13-15.
