Diemer, Diekevers, and Scholten highlight DU WSOC All-GLIAC honors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport University women's soccer saw three Panthers named to the 2024 All-GLIAC honors list.

Senior midfielder Gabby Scholten received Honorable Mention All-Conference for the second straight year, serving as one of the primary leaders for DU. The senior midfielder has started in every contest she's appeared in throughout her career (70 total), going 19 for 19 in 2024 for 1,665 minutes on the pitch. These career numbers put Scholten at t-No. 5 in the program's all-time leaderboards for matches played as she became the No. 1 leader for career minutes (6,032).

"Gabby had five assists despite playing the majority of the minutes in defensive midfield," said head coach Joe White. "As the team's leader, she does the defensive and attacking work equally well."

Receiving her first All-Conference award, Diemer became a defensive anchor in the early portions of her career and has maintained an exceptional performance level. The junior defender has started and played in all 19 contests through Nov. 13, logging seven shot attempts with four on target (.571%). Diemer is also one of the leading Panthers for total minutes played on the team with 1,685.

"Playing almost every minute this season, Arianna has been key in the heart of the defense with the most shutouts in the GLIAC. She is extremely worthy of an All-Conference award."

Lastly, Diekevers' offensive production this year has moved her up the program leaderboards for several categories. Through Nov. 13, the senior forward has recorded six goals (five game-winners) and two assists for 14 points overall - playing 1,312 minutes. Her career stats place her at No. 5 in points (60), No. 6 in goals (26), t-No. 4 in game-winners (10), No. 3 for shots on goal (89), and No. 2 all-time for total matches played (74).

"With her second award in two years, and scoring five game-winning goals, she has proven to be one of the top players in the conference."
