DU sees six Panthers named CSC Academic All-District

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport University women's soccer saw half a dozen players named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District team.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and have competed in at least 90% or started at least 66% of the team's total games.

Haley Diekevers, Arianna Diemer, Taylor Meadows, Izabelle Olsson, Gabby Scholten, and Julia Tamasy highlighted the honors for the Panthers, with a near-even split of first time and multi-time recipients. Scholten, Olsson, Diemer, and Diekevers have received this honor for the second straight year, while Tamasy and Meadows received the first nod in their final collegiate season.

All six Panthers were integral to the success of 2024 where DU met multiple historical firsts and set program records, including: best record and most conference wins as a full member of the NCAA (8-4-8, 5-2-7 GLIAC); first GLIAC Tournament victory and first wins against Grand Valley State and Ferris State in program history; most shutouts in a single season in program history.

Diekevers (Second Team At-Large), Diemer (Second Team), and Scholten (Honorable Mention) received All-Conference honors this season, as Diekevers was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week twice in Weeks 1 and 6 with an overall team-high six goals (five game-winners) throughout the year. Scholten was the team's assist leader with a single-season career-high five overall. Diemer started and played in all 20 contests while recording four-of-seven shot attempts on goal and an assist in the team's final match of 2024.

Meadows tallied two game-winners, the first resulting in the historic victory over then-No. 2 GVSU. Tamasy tied the team's third-most individual scores (two goals) while her only assist came in the GVSU match. Olsson played all but 37 minutes in all 20 matches as a go-to starter on defense, as her career-high 1,718 minutes played saw her score twice in 2024 - first against Ferris State and in the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals against Northern Michigan.
