2025 Women's Soccer Season Kickoff at Home

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport University women's soccer team looks to carry the momentum from its 2024 GLIAC Tournament run into the 2025 season, beginning with a pair of home matches against Quincy and Truman State.
The Panthers are coming off a successful 2024 campaign in which they posted an 8-4-8 record and advanced to the GLIAC Tournament, setting the stage for even higher expectations this fall.

Seven seniors will anchor this year's squad, joined by 12 true freshmen and five incoming transfers. Leading the veteran group is senior Arianna Diemer, who earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors last fall after logging a team-high 1,775 minutes on the field. Fellow seniors Brynn White and Claire Breault also return for their last year in the Panther red and black, having ranked among the team leaders in minutes played.

In the GLIAC Preseason Coaches Poll, the Panthers were selected fifth. DU will be led by head coach Joe White, now in his third season at the helm. He is joined by assistants Joe Lockey, Dom Hunter, Danielle Dunn, Julia Tamasy and Abi Hearn.

Truman State Matchup

The Panthers and Bulldogs enter Thursday's contest tied 3-3 in the all-time series since first meeting in 2018. Davenport claimed the most recent matchup on Sept. 6, 2024, earning a 2-0 victory on Truman State's home field.

Members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Bulldogs finished their 2024 season with a 5-9-4 record and advanced to the first round of the GLVC Championship. This year's contest will serve as the season opener for both programs.

Quincy Matchup

Looking ahead to Sept. 6, the Panthers will host the Hawks of Quincy. Davenport leads the series 3-2-1, with the most recent meeting coming on Sept. 8, 2024, when the Panthers secured a 1-0 road victory.

The Hawks finished the 2024 season with a 4-10-3 record and enter 2025 under new leadership with Taylor Reis, the sixth head coach in program history. Reis inherits a roster featuring 10 freshmen and seven transfers. Quincy will open its season on Sept. 4 against GLIAC opponent Purdue Northwest, making the matchup with Davenport the second outing of the season for both teams.
