GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University men's lacrosse team was selected No. 5 in the 2024 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) men's lacrosse preseason poll, receiving 14 points ahead of its fifth season in the NCAA Division II.

DU was one spot short of clinching a berth in the GLVC Tournament last year after a 5-8 season, matching their record from the previous season.

Head coach Chris Esquivel enters his ninth season in the leadership role as Jackson Iciek returns as an assistant coach. Stephen Treppa and Angelina McSauby join the sidelines as first-year assistant coaches for DU.

The Panthers pieced together one of their largest groups in recent years with a 39-man roster, including 2023 GLVC Freshman of the Year Jayden Ashley, who led the team in goals (40) and shots (104). Other key returns include graduate defender Andy Trapp, redshirt senior attacker Keelan McKouen (t-second most team goals), senior defender Chase Post, and senior midfielder Kaden Seelye, who appeared and started in the majority of DU's 13 games.

DU will play six contests at home with seven on the road, their first matchups at Tiffin University and Calvin University on Feb. 10 and Feb. 13, respectively.
