RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Davenport baseball team got huge contributions from a number of players in Friday's 15-3 win over Parkside in a game played at Concordia-Chicago Cougar Field. The Panthers were able to record 18 hits including three extra-base knocks and walked eight times against six different Ranger pitchers.
Carter Storti (0-4) got the start for Parkside but yielded seven runs, seven hits, and four walks to earn the loss. His counterpart
Carson Fischer (3-6) was steady over his six innings of work. He allowed two runs (one earned) with just one walk and six strikeouts. He kept the ball low in the strike zone as evidenced by giving up 10 groundouts and just one flyout.
Connor Foley finished the game with three innings and allowed no earned runs on two hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
Anthony Aloisio drove in a career-high five runs in the contest going 2-for-4 with a walk and run scored. He hit a sacrifice fly to start the scoring in the third inning. In his next plate appearance, he bombed a three-run home run to right field which gave DU a 7-0 lead. Later in the sixth inning, he drove in his fifth run on a single up the middle.
Connor Hnilo has emerged as a pleasant surprise this season and went 4-for-5. He set new career highs for hits, runs (4), and RBI (3). He had a RBI single in the fourth inning and a two-RBI double in the seventh inning.
Michael Tchavdarov in the leadoff spot went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. He had a solo home run to center field in the sixth inning and a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.
Josh Robinson went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored.
Xander Reisbig went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI.
Nikolas Clark collected his first hit and first RBI with Davenport with a single in the ninth inning.
The two teams will continue their weekend series tomorrow with a doubleheader starting at 2 PM ET from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
