MLAX Preview: Quincy highlights single-game week for Panthers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport University men's lacrosse resumes conference action this weekend following a two-game road trip split 1-1 by the Panthers.

Following a monstrous 23-6 victory in the first-ever matchup against Thomas More, DU could not secure its first win against Maryville University, the 20-8 final score marking the Panthers' fifth-straight loss to the Saints.

Through 10 games, the Panthers have reached new heights as a program. Currently, DU is fifth overall in shot percentage (.375), sixth in man-up offense (.533), tied-eighth in win percentage (.800), ninth for caused turnovers average (11.70), 20th in man-down defense (.734),  and 25th for points per game (21.80) in NCAA Division II.

Kaden Seelye remains at the top of NCAA DII (No. 7) and GLVC (No. 1) leaderboards for caused turnovers per game at 2.90. Braylon Baker's consistency on offense keeps him at No. 1 in the league for assists (3.00) and points (5.30) per contest - his averages placing him at No. 4 and No. 7 in the country, respectively. Daniel Milano has also maintained a position in the national leaderboards, currently 19th overall with a goals-against average of 9.89.

Searching for their first league victory this season, DU looks to work its way up the GLVC standings with a current 0-2 conference record (8-2 overall).

Quincy Matchup
Selected to finish sixth in the conference behind the Panthers, the Hawks are 5-5 (0-2 GLVC) with four games remaining on their schedule.

Christian Czarny leads Quincy in goals with 26 (No. 4 GLVC) with 3.20 points per contest average (tied-seventh GLVC). Mason Marano's season total of 24 assists marks him as second overall in the conference, his 3.20 points per game average placing him in a three-way tie with his teammate.

Ryan Riggs has started and played in all 10 games for the Hawks, maintaining a conference fourth-best .549 save percentage (min. 10 games played) with a 13.62 goals-against average.

The Panthers are undefeated in the all-time series against the Hawks (3-0) with the potential to make it four-straight wins in home-field advantage.
