Preview: Panthers Prep for Home Opener

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University men's lacrosse team is set to have its first home game of the 2025 campaign, taking on Malone on Tuesday, March 11 at the DU Turf Field at 7 p.m. The Panthers (0-5, 0-1 G-MAC) will then have a makeup game against Lewis on Saturday, March 15 in Romeoville, Ill. at 2 p.m. EST.

Seve Cordero is coming off the best game of his career, scoring a career-high five goals against Westminster last Sunday (March 9).

About the Pioneers 
  • Last season, MU went 8-9 overall and 4-4 in conference action. They fell in the first round of the conference tournament to Lake Erie College 20-10 in Painesville, Ohio. 
  • Malone returned both of its First Team All-Conference performers from a season ago; Talon Heath and Zac Smargiasso. Each of them were in the top five in the G-MAC in points per game, including a league-high 5.53 from Heath.
  • Through five games in 2025, Heath has tallied 19 goals and averages 3.8 goals per game, both ranking second in the conference.
  • As a team, the Pioneers have scored 61 goals, the second most in the G-MAC.
  • Coming off a 24-7 win over Davis & Elkins College on Saturday, March 8 in Philippi, W.V

About the Flyers
  • Last season, the Flyers went 14-5 overall and 5-1 in GLVC action. Lewis won the conference tournament, defeating Maryville 11-10 in the conference championship game on May 4, 2024. 
  • Head Coach Joe Perruzi was the GLVC Coach of the Year in 2024.
  • Domenic Tarello is the top returner for the Flyers, earning GLVC Specialist of the Year and First Team All-GLVC honors. 
  • The Flyers return four other All-GLVC performers from last season; Tyler Davis (First Team), Mark Crowley (Second Team), Nolan Dalep (Honorable Mention) and Logan Suchy (Honorable Mention).
  • Through seven games, Malikye Good ranks second in the conference in assists per game (2.0) and points per game (4.14).
