Preview: Panthers Prep for Final Stretch of Regular Season

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's lacrosse team has its eyes set on the end of the 2025 regular season, with two games remaining in the upcoming days. The Panthers (5-7, 5-2 G-MAC) will travel to No. 4 Seton Hill on Saturday (April 19), then host Northwood on Tuesday (April 22) to close out the season.

Heading into this weekend, the Panthers have won four of their previous five games.

Last Meeting: Seton Hill defeated Davenport 20-1 in Greensburg, Pa.
About the Griffins
  • Last season, the Griffins went 11-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play. SHU fell in the second round of the G-MAC tournament to Marcyhurst.
  • The squad had three players named USILA preseason All-Americans; Junior goalie Will Cody (second team), senior defender Alex Callahan (third team) and junior midfielder Carter Green (third team). 
  • Braedan Lockyer leads the offensive with a team-best 70 points on the season (39 goals and 31 assists). His 70 points rank ninth in NCAA Division II.
  • The team leads the country in the following categories; clearing percentage (.926), face-off percentage (.749), points (471), scoring (4.93), scoring margin (15.71) and scoring offense (20.64).
  • Have won 11 straight games. Only loss of the season came to No. 2 Tampa on Saturday, March 1, falling 13-8.
  • Currently first in the G-MAC standings. Picked to finish first in the G-MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Last Meeting: 3/8/12 - Davenport defeated Seton Hill 23-4 in Midland, Mich. 
About the Timberwolves
  • It is the first lacrosse season in 25 years for the program.
  • Andrew Rogers and Drew Lockwood are the two top offensive threats for the Timberwolves. Rogers leads the squad in goals (24), while Lockwood has a team-best 41 points. 
  • Owen Brown and Evan Phillips have split time in net for NU. They each have two wins, while Brown leads the way in saves with 72/
  • Coming off a 26-5 loss to Seton Hill.
  • Currently sixth in the conference standings. Picked to finish ninth in the G-MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
