Three Panthers Earn All-Conference Honors, Opray Named Freshman of the Year.

GLIAC – Sienna Opray of the Davenport University women's tennis team has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman of the Year, the league announced on Friday afternoon. The Panthers also had three All-GLIAC honorees; Opray (First Team Singles), Amy Bloch (Second Team Singles) and Skye Vandeleur (Honorable Mention).

Primarily playing at the No. 1 position, Opray picked up 20 singles victories in her first season with DU. The Melbourne, Australia native went on a 12-match winning streak in singles play at the beginning of the spring season. She also finished the season with 17 doubles victories, playing the majority of the season at the No. 1 slot with Vandeleur. Opray also earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors three times this season. With the nod, Opray is the first women's tennis player in school history to collect a major award since the Panthers joined the GLIAC in 2017.

For Bloch, it marks the third consecutive season that the junior has been a Second Team All-GLIAC honoree for DU. She ended the year on a dominating stretch, winning 12 of her final 13 singles matches. In total, Bloch picked up 16 wins in singles action, playing at the No. 2 position the entire season.

Vandeleur also ended the year finding success, winning four of her final five singles matches. She finished the year with 11 singles victories and 15 doubles victories. This is the first time the junior has received All-Conference honors.
