Preview: Panthers Seek Third Straight Win, Hosting Walsh on Saturday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Coming off back-to-back wins, the Davenport University men's lacrosse team looks to extend its winning streak to three this Saturday, hosting Walsh at the DU Turf Field.

The Panthers (3-6, 3-1 G-MAC) went 2-0 last week, defeating Tiffin 14-4 on Tuesday (March 25) and Thomas More 18-11 on Saturday (March 29). Charlie Fritz combined for nine points across the two games, finishing the week with two goals and seven assists.

On the season, four Panthers have over 20 points; Jayden Ashley (26), Luke Eichbauer (23), Seve Cordero (21) and Luke Fritz (20).

In net, Antonio Hart has started all nine games for Davenport, accumulating 121 saves on the year.

Joseph Rush is the top returner from a season ago. The 2024 G-MAC Specialist of the Year was named a 2025 USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American. So far this season, Rush leads the team in ground balls (86) and face off victories (122), while scoring four goals and adding one assist.
James Sternberg has been the top offensive threat for WU, accumulating 50 points (22 goals and 28 assists), all of which lead the Cavs. The junior was named the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 24.
Ethan Price garnered conference Defensive Player of the Week honors on March 24. On the season, Price has registered nine caused turnovers and 25 ground balls.
In net, Alex Movshin has played and started in all 11 games for the Cavaliers, posting six wins and 147 saves.
