Men’s LAX Preview: Panthers Open 2026 Season at #4 Maryville

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's lacrosse team is set to open its season tomorrow, heading to St. Louis, Mo. for a non-conference battle with No. 4 Maryville. The game is set to start at noon EST at the Maryville Athletic Complex.

DU has a lot to build off from a season ago, returning all four of its All-Conference honorees, Logan Flaherty, Tyler Burd, Luke Eichbauer and Jayden Ashley.

The matchup with the Saints will mark the first of three non-conference battles before starting G-MAC play.

For the Saints, they enter the season ranked fourth in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) preseason rankings. A season ago, Maryville claimed a school record 14 wins and advanced to the national semifinals, falling to No. 1 Tampa to end its season.

Head coach Scott Stark earned USILA Division II Coach of the Year honors in 2025, while the Saints also return GLVC Defensive Player of the Year, John Chorlton.
