The Opponent: Briar Cliff University (Iowa) - DU leads all-time series 1-0 (99-85 - 10/30/10)
The Chargers are a perennial NAIA Tournament team and will come in as one of the two "home" teams as they hail from Sioux City. BCU is coached by Mike Power and is making its fifth appearance at the tournament since 2000 where they have made it to the Final Four each of the last three trips. The team made it to the National Semifinals in 2010 behind the play of NAIA Player of the Year Liz Grider.
Fortunately for Davenport, Grider has graduated but the Chargers still have plenty of firepower as they are led on offense by nine players who average between 6.0 and 9.9 points. Leading the way is junior Kylie Dilla who has made the most three point attempts (64) on the team while posting the second most assists and second most steals.
The Chargers began the season ranked No. 23 in the country as Davenport rallied from an 8-point halftime deficit to post the 14 point win on the home floor of Hastings College back in late October. Since then both teams have improved as BCU posted a tie for fourth place finish in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
