WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 2 Davenport women's basketball team closed its season-opening three-game tour in South Florida having to comeback from a four-point deficit at halftime as another second-half surge led the Panthers to a 94-73 victory over Northwood (Fla.) in a rare Monday afternoon game.

For the third consecutive game, Davenport (3-0) saw one of its players post a double-double with Alison Bouman collecting 11 points and matching her career-best 15 rebounds. Alex Law went 3-for-4 in 3-point land to help her reach a new career-best in 17 points, breaking her previous best of 16 which was set on two occasions. Newcomer Kelly Dineen and Tiesha Stokes also reached double figures in points with 15 and 10, respectively.

The Panthers had to dig out of an early jam as they trailed the Seahawks (0-1) 8-2 with 16:09 left. DU climbed out of the hole and took a 9-8 lead using a three-pointer by Kayleigh VanKeulen followed by a pair of jumpers by Dineen and Frazier.

Northwood connected with a two-pointer before heading into the locker room leading the Panthers 41-38.

Stokes got the Panthers back on track by making two jumpers 33 seconds into the second half to give DU a 42-41 lead. The Seahawks regained and extended their lead to as many as five points at 15:39 before Davenport used a 19-2 run to take a 63-51 lead with 10:40 left.

Davenport never trailed since the run and extended the lead to as many as 25 points on two occasions near within the final minutes of the contest.

The Panthers will now travel to the other side of Lake Michigan over to Milwaukee, Wis., to visit No. 15 Cardinal Stritch Saturday at 3 p.m. EST. It will be the third meeting between the two schools in just over a year.
