Top Two Teams in Quadrant Battle for NAIA Tourney Final Four Berth Saturday

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Coming off an early morning victory over Cardinal Stritch in the second round of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament, Davenport will get back on the hardwood again Saturday as it will take on Eastern Oregon in a battle of the quadrant's top two seeds, with the winner advancing to the Final Four Monday. Opening tip is at 2 p.m. EST and can be heard live on the Davenport Athletics Network (DAN) with Ken Clemens and Ed Keating on the call.
 
The top seed Mountaineers are coming off a 76-62 win over Jamestown Friday afternoon. Brooke Randall had 23 points and seven assists to pace Eastern Oregon. Korrie Bourn and Nicole Redd also reached double figures in points with 17 and 11, respectively. The Mountaineers punched their ticket to the NAIA Tournament after winning the Cascade Collegiate Conference championship. Randall and Kelsea Hurliman both lead the way for Eastern Oregon, averaging 15.4 and 12.8 points per game, respectively.
 
The 32-team field is comprised of 21 automatic qualifiers from NAIA affiliated conferences and independents, plus 11 at-large selections, which were determined using the final Top 25 poll released on Wednesday.
 
Eight teams are appearing in the National Championship for at least the 10th time in school history, led by the 19 appearances made by College of the Ozarks (Mo.). Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) has the second most with 17 trips. Eight schools have qualified for the National Championship for the first time ever: Mayville State (N.D.), Oklahoma Wesleyan, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), Purdue Calumet (Ind.), Reinhardt (Ga.), Roosevelt (Ill.), Saint Xavier (Ill.) and Siena Heights (Mich.). Olivet Nazarene and Saint Xavier are first year Division II members, have made trips to the Division I National championship.
