A Quick at Marygrove – 2-15, 0-10 WHAC – Head coach Craig Covington
The Mustangs continue to remain winless in WHAC play after falling 80-59 to visiting Northwestern Ohio. Marygrove had a 34-28 lead at intermission, but a 10-2 run two minutes into the start of the second period gave the Racers the lead. The Racers would not look back after. Ciara Moore continues to carry the Mustangs with a .336 shooting percentage and 11.4 points per game. Kierra Jordan, Arielle Edwards and Shawnicka Thomas are the only Mustangs to have averaged more than four rebounds per game this season.
The Last Time vs. Marygrove
Alex Law and
Alison Bouman both had 16 points to lead six Panthers in double figures to lead the Panthers to a 110-59 win over Marygrove in their last meeting back in November, which happened to the be the WHAC season opener for both schools.
Tiesha Stokes had 12 points,
Kia Frazier and
Brittany Johnson both added 11 and freshman
Kelcie Haizlip earned 10 to round out the Panthers who recorded double digits. After two lead changes to start the game, Davenport established a 6-2 run at the 15-minute mark that would set the tone the rest of the way.
Panthers Rewriting the Record Book
Several Panthers have been climbing up the ladder in the school's career record book this season.
Alison Bouman, who ranks 11th in the NAIA Division II in blocks with 35, needs two more to tie and pass former teammate
Leah Sevcik's (2009-13) 73 for third all-time. After making five steals last Saturday to bring her career number to 191,
Kia Frazier has passed Jeanette Woodberry (2006-08) for eighth on the all-time list and will now chase former teammate Carrie Grubius (2008-12), who sits seventh with 197. As she brought down eighth offensive rebounds at Indiana Tech last Saturday to increase her career number to 181,
Tiesha Stokes has leaped over Kristin Bergsma's (2005-08) 175 for sixth on the all-time list and will try to track down Abby Neff (2008-12), who tallied 200.
