They upset No. 24 Cornerstone 65-58 and most ran away from Marygrove 80-52 to start the WHAC season. Madonna returns last year's All-WHAC selection Rachel Melcher one last time. Panthers vs. Crusaders

The Last Time They Met
Tiesha Stokes scored 22 points, graduate Alison Bouman added 20 along with 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the 2013-14 year as then-second-ranked and top seeded Davenport led from start to finish to defeat eighth-seed Madonna 80-64 in the WHAC Tournament opener Feb. 27. Davenport (29-1) combined for 39.2 percent (29-for-74) from the field and 22.6 percent from 3-point range. Despite the struggles from the perimeter, the Panthers made it up on the free throw line, going 15-for-19 with Stokes going perfect in her five opportunities. Davenport led by as many as 20 throughout the second half but a 16-3 run by the Crusaders within the final seven minutes of the game brought the deficit down to 16. Madonna improved its shooting percentage to 48.4 (15-for-31) while limiting the Panthers to 33.3 (11-for-33).
