GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It will be a busy evening at the Student Center when second-ranked Davenport and UM-Dearborn's women's basketball teams meet for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff Wednesday evening. The Panthers will honor their three seniors
Alex Merz,
Alison Bouman and
Mariska Bruggenthijs before the opening tip along with hosting its first #DUTweetit social media promotion. Fans can watch the game along with the festivities on the Davenport Athletics Network with
Ken Clemens and Ed Keating behind the microphone.

About the #DUTweetit Game
The women's basketball team will host their version of the #DUTweetit Game Wednesday with Andre Perry, dean of the University's urban education, and last year's women's basketball graduate
Emily Nielsen as the hosts. Fans will be able to send tweets to @DUAthletics and @DU_WBB to enter trivia contests throughout the game including the four media timeouts. There will be a combination contest between Twitter and or Instagram that will allow students to go on a Scavenger Hunt throughout the Student Center and if they post all five pictures while tagging @DUAthletics, they will receive a special basketball shirt from the marketing department. Perry will be controlling the @DUAthletics account while Nielsen will take over @DU_WBB.
About Senior Night
Before tipoff against UM-Dearborn, the Panthers will be honoring their three seniors:
Alex Merz,
Alison Bouman and
Mariska Bruggenthijs. Bouman has appeared in 97 games since moving over to Davenport from Wayne State three years ago. Merz, who is also a member of the Panther golf team, has checked into 25 games with the women's basketball varsity squad. Bruggenthijs has played all four years on Davenport's junior varsity team.
A Quick Look at UM-Dearborn
The Wolverines are coming off an eighth straight loss to Siena Heights 77-69 in their final home game of the regular season last Saturday. They have also lost 12 of their last 13 contests. Jalissa Williams has shown to be the leader on the team for UM-Dearborn, averaging 16.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Williams is also shooting .407 from the field and .818 from the charity stripe.
The Last Time vs. UM-Dearborn
Linnea Brandholm and
Alison Bouman both had 13 points to lead a group of four in double figures in Davenport's exploding 90-52 victory over UM-Dearborn two weeks ago. Davenport went on to shoot 46.5 percent from the field, 38.5 in 3-point range. The Panthers also reached 14 successful free throws for the third consecutive game. After both teams scored their first two points one minute into the contest, the Panthers began to run away with the lead using a huge momentum to take a 21-8 lead at the 12:31 mark. Bouman scored six of those points to lead the run.
