Another Successful WHAC Title DefenseFollowing its 72-48 win at Indiana Tech Wednesday, Davenport not only clinched home court advantage to the WHAC Tournament but most importantly receives the conference's first of two automatic bid to the NAIA Division II Tournament. The Panthers will be making an 11th straight trip to Sioux City, Iowa March 11. The winner of the WHAC Tournament (or runner-up should Davenport make it to the final) will receive the second automatic berth to the NAIA Tournament.
A Quick Look at ConcordiaIt has been a struggling season for second-year head coach Thad Sankey's Cardinals this season, having a 4-23 overall season. Concordia has only picked up WHAC wins against Marygrove, UM-Dearborn and Lourdes. Most recently, the Cardinals are coming off an 81-63 home defeat to Northwestern Ohio Wednesday. Concordia has eight freshmen in a 16-team roster, including four of them have started more than 20 games this season. The lone senior on the team, Mara Mulroy, had the starting nod 24 of her 25 appearances. Freshmen Kari Borowiak and Michelle Murnen are the lone players to be averaging more than 10 of Concordia's 69.3 points per game this season.
Panthers vs. CardinalsThis will be the 28th meeting between Davenport and Concordia. The Panthers have won the last five contests. Concordia's two wins, both at home, were back in 2012 and 2013.
The Last Time They MetDaina Grazulis scored 18 points and added seven rebounds and
Kayleigh VanKeulen chipped in 10 points to lead Davenport to an 83-45 win at Concordia last month. Davenport held Concordia to just 15.2 percent from the field in the half as the Panthers led 32-11 at the break.
