Moving Closer to Another WHAC ChampionshipWith five games remaining, the Panthers look to keep that three-game lead over Madonna in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings but they can clinch at least a share of the championship with a win over the Racers AND a Crusader loss at Cornerstone.
A Quick Look at Northwestern OhioThe Racers have won four of their last five contests, most recently an 84-59 victory at Marygrove Wednesday. Madison Coldren stole the show for UNOH by pouring a game-high 28 points and setting a new school single-season record with 18 rebounds against the Mustangs. On paper, scoring has never been an issue for the Racers, who average 78.8 points per game, but the defense has allowed nearly that many (73.8 per game). Coldren has been leading Northwestern Ohio individually by averaging 16.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. She is also shooting 49 percent from the field.
Panthers vs. RacersThis will be the 11th meeting between Davenport and Northwestern Ohio. The Panthers have never lost to the Racers.
The Last Time They MetLinnea Brandholm and
Daina Grazulis both scored 16 points as the Panthers opened WHAC play with an 88-74 victory over the Racers in the Student Center last November. The Racers have scored the most points against the Panthers in a single game this season. In fact, they are only one of two schools to break the 60-point barrier against Davenport. Grazulis and
Brittany Johnson both had double-doubles that evening. Grazulis brought down 10 rebounds while Johnson tallied what has been a rare 12 point, 10 assist twin bill. Sammi Dervisevic and Shakeia Salters combined for 37 points to lead the effort for the Racers.
