ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport track and field teams competed over the last two days at the GLIAC Indoor Championships and saw three individual champions.
Emma Schafer won the high jump with a height of 5' 6" (tying the school record) and made a NCAA provisional mark ranking her 35th in D2.
Bryce Albrecht won the heptathlon with 4,829 points and set a personal record while ranking 36th in D2 this season.
Ethan Flores won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.93 just .01 seconds ahead of Makiyah Smallwood of Grand Valley State in the finals. Flores set a personal best in the event and his time is currently seventh in NCAA Division II and also set a school record.
The Panther men finished third as a team with 104 points as Northwood was second with 116 and GVSU won the championship with 257 points. The Panther women finished fourth as a team with 74.33 points and trailed Wayne State by the slimmest of margins (75 points) for third. Saginaw Valley took second with 130.5 points and GVSU won the championship with 248.5 points. Both finishes were the best in program history at the indoor championships.
Noah Dooley was named High Point Athlete of the Meet and accounted for 23 points towards the team total of 104. He placed third in the 60-meter dash (6.93), fourth in both the 4x400 meter relay (3:22.27) and long jump (22' 3.5"), fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.35), and sixth in the high jump (6' 3.25").
Day one of the championships saw three second-place finishes for Davenport.
Emma Schafer set a school record in the long jump (18' 6.5") on her fifth attempt.
Isaiah Schafer in the weight throw had a national mark ranking him 13th in D2 of 64' 9.75".
Colin Grady in the long jump had a leap of 22' 9" and was just a quarter inch away from first place by Chanse Setzke of Grand Valley State. In other highlights from day one, the women's distance medley relay set a school record by nearly 12 seconds at 12:29.05.

Leialani Akalaonu ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.94.
Emma Schafer continued to thrive on day two (Sunday) finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.79 just .01 seconds behind Corrina Courser of Grand Valley State to earn eight points and also set or tied her third school record during the meet. The 4x400 meter relay of Schafer,

Erin Boettcher, and Reynolds placed fourth with a time of 3:58.68 to earn five points.
Sidney Heugel finished fifth in the pole vault with a height of 12' 3.5" to earn four points.
Mackenzie Brigham in the long jump was fourth with a leap of 17' 5.25" to earn five points. Brigham was also second in the triple jump with a distance of 36' 7.75" just two inches shy of first place.
Lisa Wangler placed fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 56' 8.75" which hit a provisional mark.
Annabelle Schafer would finish fourth in the pentathlon with 3,195 points which was a personal best.
Jessica Marvin set a school record in the shot put with a toss of 43' 7".
Grady for the men's team finished seventh in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.06.
Nolan Kudera earned two points with a seventh-place finish in the 400 meters (50.10).
Corbin DeJonge placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.21. Albrecht also placed sixth in the pole vault clearing 14' 1.25".
Cody Brandenburg finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 40' 11.75".
Isaiah Schafer finished third in the shot put with a toss of 59' 9.75" which was a provisional mark but didn't improve a previous best.
Claude Ockert was fifth in the weight throw with a provisional mark of 62' 9.5".
Ryan Olsen finished second in the heptathlon behind Albrecht with 4,373 points. In total, 22 performances were top five all-time in Davenport indoor history.
