NEW BOSTON, Mich. - Competing in the second invite of the season, Davenport University cross country participated in the 2024 Warrior Challenge hosted by Wayne State University. The men's team finished fifth overall out of 14 teams, as the women's team didn't have enough runners competing to qualify for a placement.

Seven of the nine men's runners finished in the top 50 for DU, with Garrett Melling securing a top-10 position (ninth place) with a final time of 25:56.5 to help bring down DU's final score of 110 points for the 5 Mile - his second top-10 finish in back-to-back invites this season. Ella Baryo had her second top-five finish this season, as the senior placed fifth overall with a time of 22.43.6 in the women's 6K.
