Panthers see several top-three performances at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The track and field teams changed up their schedule and visited the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open on Saturday under temperatures in the 70's. The men's side had several top-three performances during the meet.
 
Malcolm Earvin took third in the 100 meters with a time of 10.6 to set a new PR. Jordan Domany ran in the grueling 5,000 meters and placed third with a time of 14:57.57. The 10,000 meters saw two great performances as Rogan Melling placed second with a time of 31:52.33 and Jacob Dennis was fourth in 32:30.05, which was a new PR.
 
Marcus Nystrom took home third place in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.66 in his first outdoor meet as a Panther. The men's 4x100 relay raced to a second-place finish at 41.34. The relay consisted of Ethan Scholten, Earvin, Nystrom, and Ibrahim Fall. Bryce Albrecht finished second in the pole vault with a height of 15' 11" and hit the NCAA provisional mark. Brayden Green took second in the triple jump with a distance of 45' 7". James Horn in the shot put was able to claim third with a toss of 50' 3.25".
 
On the women's side, Julia Tuuri clocked in at 11.86 in the 100 meters and finished in sixth place. Alivia Lamborne took fifth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 41:09. The women's 4x100 relay consisting of Arrionna Wallace, Jakya Mack-Smith, Jaiden Young, and Tuuri placed fourth with a time of 47.55. That time was just .10 seconds off the school record. Jayla Procter in the discus placed fifth with a throw of 140' 10".
 
DU also had two other competitors who traveled to Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. for the WashU Distance Carnival on Thursday and Friday. Ella Baryo competed in the 3,000 steeplechase and hit a NCAA provisional mark with a time of 10:52.14. Nik Shilling ran in the 800 meters and finished with a time of 1:52.39.
