NEW BOSTON, Mich. - In action for the first time in two weeks, the Davenport University cross country teams were in New Boston, Mich. on Saturday to compete in Wayne State's Warrior Challenge. The women placed 11th among 14 teams and were paced by
Erin Dorn in 10th (22:39.60) while the men sent just four student-athletes out led by
Garrett Melling in 25th (26:10.10). Next up for DU is the GLIAC Championships on Friday, Nov. 4 at 11:45 a.m. right back at the same course.
Joining Dorn for the women and in the top 100 were
Ella Baryo in 36th (23:35.00),
Riley Schroeder 47th (23:55.40) and
Claire Akin in 87th (24:59.30). Those four were followed by
Morgan Steenstra in 109th (25:26.40),
Alivia Lamborne in 112th (25:33.70),
Cierra Guay in 125th (26:00.90),
Olivia Richards in 126th (26:02.30),
McKenna Evans in 151st (29:50.50),
Amilia Jones in 154th (31:13.00), and
Molly Dailey in 155th (32:53.70).
Switching over to the men, Melling was followed by
Drew Sharrar in 57th (26:53),
TJ Moore in 90th (27:37.80) and
Caden Hoezee in 92nd (27:42.30).
