GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers dropped a pair of contests last week, falling 73-68 to Parkside before suffering a 64-52 setback against Roosevelt.

Despite the results, a few Panthers contributed with strong performances. Neveah Williams led the way with 32 points across the two games, while Maddie Geers added 30 points, including a 22-point effort against Parkside. Ellie Toney contributed a steady presence on both ends, finishing the week with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

Against the Rangers, DU delivered one of its strongest showings in recent series history. Entering the matchup with just one win in the previous 13 meetings against UWP, Davenport remained competitive throughout. Geers and Williams combined for 43 points as the Panthers kept the contest within reach into the final minutes before Parkside secured the 73-68 decision.

In the matchup with Roosevelt, the Lakers used balanced scoring and timely execution to maintain control down the stretch. Anna Axtell and Williams paced Davenport with 11 points apiece, but RU created separation late to seal the 64-52 victory. The loss moves the all-time series between the programs to an even 3-3.

With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the Panthers currently sits eighth in the GLIAC standings, just behind Roosevelt and Parkside as the race for conference tournament positioning intensifies. Lake Superior State, Saginaw Valley State, and Purdue Northwest remain within striking distance, making the final stretch of the season pivotal as the Panthers look to solidify their postseason position.
