BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - In a historic moment for the program as a whole, the Davenport University cross country teams posted a strong effort in the 2024 GLIAC XC Championships, with the women's coming in eighth (249) and the men's tallying a program-high finish of fourth place (132).

Ella Baryo (First Team), Garrett Melling (Second Team), and Jordan Domany (Second Team) received All-GLIAC honors for their top-25 finishes in their respective races. 

"Our athletes ran very well. Many people set personal records or even running near their personal best (times)," said head coach Scott Cook. "This puts us in a good position moving into the NCAA Regional Championships in two weeks."

Baryo's sixth-place finish set the school record for the 6000m (6K) race, as Rogan Melling and Lucas Van Meter set lifetime best times for the 8000m (8K). Alivia Lamborne, Kaylen Clark, Erin Boettcher, and Kayleigh Kuhse also set personal best times of 2024 in the event.
